Habitat BPM Ltd was created in 2009 with the ambition not only to make a real difference to the environment but also to enable all businesses to develop economically sustainable management. Directors Colin and Wendy Pirie and their family live by the values of sustainability and caring for the environment.

Meet our team
Colin Pirie
Meet our Managing Director and CEO Colin Pirie. Colin brings over 20 years of experience in the environmental and sustainability field, which enables him to offer a deep understanding and passion for sustainability, native tree restoration, and environmental best practice.
Colin holds a diploma in project management and has over a decade of experience in executive and director roles. Much of Colin’s experience has involved overseeing and retiring land into native tree restoration projects through both councils and the private sector.
Colin is based in Hawkes Bay.

Dr Wendy Pirie
Wendy holds a PhD from the Auckland University of Technology and has been working with children, their families, teachers, and clinicians since 2004 unpacking the role that movement and nature play in child development. In 2016 the movement curriculum Move, Play & Learn with Smart Steps, co-authored by Wendy was published in the USA.
Her previous work as Australasia Director of TimberNook, co-Director of Moving Smart New Zealand, early years project lead and Trustee for the Hawkes Bay Institute of Sport & Health and founder of the DEN, a unique and innovative early learning centre for children 2 – 6 years links to a special interest in connecting nature, health and education for the best outcomes for children.
Kaleb Pirie BSc
Kaleb has completed his degree with a double major in Environmental Management and Economics from the University of Otago. Kaleb has carried out specialised training and completed certification in preparing a carbon inventory and identifying carbon reduction opportunities.
Kaleb is our Environmental Manager based in Christchurch with a strong connection to the natural environment and growing a better future for this generation and the next.
